How it works

Three steps from zero to upload-ready.

01

Paste a YouTube URL or upload an image

Drop in a link to any YouTube video or upload a thumbnail directly. FatThumb fetches the thumbnail and runs an AI style analysis in seconds.

02

Review the extracted style signal

The analysis surfaces colours, composition patterns, mood, and focal-point placement — a structured breakdown of what makes the reference thumbnail work.

03

Reference it in your next generation

Select the Inspiration entry when writing your prompt. The style signal is passed into the generation engine alongside your Person profile and prompt text.

Features

Everything you need for the click.

URL Extraction

Any YouTube video, instant analysis

Paste the video URL and FatThumb retrieves the thumbnail and runs an AI breakdown — no manual downloading or cropping required.

Style Analysis

Colours, composition, mood

The AI extracts the primary colour palette, focal-point placement, background treatment, and overall mood so you understand what drives the click — not just what it looks like.

Persistent Library

Save and reuse references

Every analysed thumbnail is saved to your workspace Inspiration Library. Reference the same winning style across multiple thumbnail prompts without re-pasting the URL.

Upload Support

Bring your own reference

Already have a screenshot or saved thumbnail you like? Upload it directly instead of pasting a URL. FatThumb accepts the same image-based analysis flow.

Combined Signal

Style + face, together

Combine an Inspiration reference with a Person profile in one prompt. The Inspiration drives the creative direction; your face stays locked in.

Beat Blank Canvas

Start from a proven reference

Staring at an empty prompt box is the biggest creative block. Starting from a thumbnail style that already works turns a 30-minute decision into a 30-second one.

FAQ

Questions & answers

What does the Inspiration Library do?

It lets you paste a YouTube URL (or upload a thumbnail image) and extract a structured style signal — colours, composition, mood — that you can then use as a creative reference when generating your own thumbnails. It analyses the what and why of a thumbnail's design without reproducing it.

Does using an Inspiration reference copy the original thumbnail?

No. The analysis extracts abstract style signals (colour palette, composition patterns, focal-point placement) which guide the generation direction. The output is a new image created from your prompt and Person profile, influenced by the style — not a copy of the original.

Can I upload a reference image instead of pasting a URL?

Yes. If you already have a thumbnail screenshot saved, you can upload it directly. FatThumb runs the same AI style analysis and saves it to your Inspiration Library.

How many Inspiration entries can I save?

Free workspaces can save up to 10 Inspiration entries. Pro, Ultra, and Lifetime plans have no limit — analyse as many reference thumbnails as you find useful.

Can I combine an Inspiration reference with a Person profile?

Yes, and it is the recommended workflow. Attach both a Person profile (for face consistency) and an Inspiration reference (for style direction) to the same prompt. The generation engine handles both signals simultaneously.

Does the Inspiration Library work for non-YouTube thumbnails?

The URL-based path is optimised for YouTube. The upload path accepts any image, so you can reference thumbnails from other platforms by saving and uploading them directly.
