Expression Studio — smiling, shocked, serious, on demand

What's new

Your face stays consistent. Now your expression can too.

The biggest challenge in AI thumbnail generation has always been getting the same real face across different emotional beats — a neutral upload forced a neutral face in every thumbnail, even when the content called for a big shocked reaction or a wide smile.

Expression control in Quick mode

Pick an expression before generating: Keep · Smile · Big smile (teeth) · Surprised · Shocked · Serious · Excited. FatThumb runs a dedicated expression pass that changes only the mouth and eye area while every identity feature — bone structure, jawline, nose, skin tone, hair — stays pixel-locked to your real photo.

If you have uploaded a real photo in that expression, FatThumb uses it directly (your actual smile, your actual shocked face) — no AI re-rendering of the expression at all. Upload a neutral, a big smile, and a shocked face and those real photos carry each expression through automatically.

Expression Studio

Pre-generate a set of expression cutouts for each Person in your library. Open the Studio from any Person card, hit Generate, and FatThumb renders transparent-background face cutouts in each expression slot. Approve the ones you like, reject and regenerate any you don't. Approved cutouts feed directly into Quick-mode generations for that expression — your validated real face, composited clean into the scene.

Visual face picker

When you select a Person in Quick mode, a gallery of that person's real photos and approved expression cutouts appears. Tap the face you want to use as the anchor — by looking, not by typing a dropdown value.
